Karmen Pečar became known to music public already as a thirteen years old girl as she performed with Slovenian Philharmonic orchestra Elgar's concert for violoncello and orchestra. With the same orchestra she performed solo on 50th Dubrovnik music festival.

In 2001 she won at one of the most prestigues international competitions for cello, which takes place evry fifth year in Vina del Mar in Čile. At Eurovisian competition of young musicians in Berlin she won 3rd price and in 2004 2nd price at international competition Janigro in Zagreb.

Karmen Pečar performed with numerous music casts and orchestras such as Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonics RTV Slovenia, Symphonic Orchestra SNG Maribor, Ensemble of Zagreb solo players, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, music cast Cellomania; she cooperated with distinguieshed artists like Boris Pergamenščikov and Misha Maisky.

With numerous recitals she introduced herself in Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Germany and Italy.

In 2006 she published (ZKP RTV Slovenia) her first CD with Dvorak and Šostakovič concert for cello and orchestra.

Katja Porovne Silič started to learn guitar as a nine year old girl at music school Franc Šturm in Ljubljana by professor Zdravko Lončarič, and Ljudmil Rus. After middle music sshool she continued to study guitar on Ljubljana Music Academy by prof. Andrej Grafenauer, where in 1994 she passed degree. She acomplished at University for Music and Art in Viena by prof. Brigitte Zaczek and in 2000 she successfully finished her studies. As the best diplome in guitar department she won special »Wurdigungspreis«. Already during studies she won prestigues rewards at international competitions for classic guitar.

She regularly have concerts home and abroad; solo and in different chamber groups.

Now Katja Porovne Silič teaches the guitar and guitar chamber music at Music Academy in Ljubljana.
